Summer Performance in the Park! The Velveteen Rabbit

Moving Light Dance Company presents the beloved Margery Williams tale of a toy rabbit and the boy who made him real through the experience of love with music by George Winston. The old Skin Horse shares his wisdom of the nursery magic with the young new Velveteen Rabbit, “Real isn’t how you are made, it’s what happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time…really loves you, then you become.”

Friday July 16th 6pm & Saturday July 17th 6pm

Tuning Fork Stage Hubbard Park

The performance is the culmination of a two week Summer Dance Performance Intensive. The cast of 6 dancers have the opportunity to delve into the process of creation. Dancers learn choreography with a strong focus on quality of presentation and character development. They also have the opportunity to create their own choreography within a structure including partnering work. The group works collaboratively with the director.
